Speedy" loses his job as a soda-jerk, then spends the day with his girl at Coney Island. He then becomes a cab driver and delivers Babe Ruth to Yankee Stadium, where he stays to see the game. When the railroad tries to run the last horse-drawn trolley (operated by his girl's grandfather) out of business, "Speedy" organizes the neighborhood oldtimers to thwart their scheme.。丧偶后独自养育一子一女的建筑师甘铭生与青年女教师向晴结婚了，婚后一家幸福的生活着，但好景不长，铭生发生车祸，成了植物人。向晴一肩挑起家庭的重担，警察林朗心怀内疚，暗中帮助向晴近十年。终于最后林朗对向晴表达了爱意，向晴今生今世却只爱铭生一个人。。
