上世纪50年代,在苏联的援助之下,北京东郊代号为78、774和738的工厂成为新中国社会主义工业化建设的重要基地,怀着建设新中国电子工业的热情,各地的年轻人尽全力争取到工厂工作,结婚生子,定居在酒仙桥。这直接导致了住房短缺。工厂为解决工人住房问题,参照苏联“赫鲁晓夫”式社区楼房模式,建造了工人生活社区,在公有制经济体制下,工厂福利优越，工人业余生活异常丰富,于是催生了如红霞影剧院、红霞舞厅等重要精神娱乐场所的出现。随着八十年代市场经济的洪潮,计划经济体制逐渐没落，酒仙桥社区最终难逃拆迁重建的命运。曹斐通过采访居住在酒桥社区前738厂、774厂的退休职工、红霞影剧院经理,工人后代,以及关注本地区变迁的城市史学家,建筑师,摄影师等人,重建这个消失社区的口述史。。When he learns his days are numbered old count Hervé de Kéraudren decides to hide in a secret alcove and to die there, just to annoy his heirs.
