When the dealer of electronics devices, Paul Reeves, is caught selling a stolen projector, the police identifies the crimin...。善良勤快的农村姑娘田小草（闫学晶饰）是一个命苦的女人，她的母亲早年去世，偏偏父亲又是一个嗜酒如命热衷赌博的男人，加上弟弟体弱多病，因此全家的生计全靠小草柔弱的肩膀支撑。为了给弟弟治病，她嫁给同村的李来顺（胡亚捷饰）。李来顺家境较好，为人也勤快能干，婚后生下一子后，眼见得人生发生了转变。谁知丈夫受伤瘫痪，家道中落，小草不得不再度成为李家的顶梁柱。在此期间，弟媳喜凤想方设法挤兑她，在外则有地痞牛二等人的欺负。田小草人如其名，看似柔弱，却依然坚韧不屈地在阳光下昂然生长……。
