But the teacher, from his standpoint of rat...。书生陈仲躬（石隽饰）的母亲身患重病卧床不起，为使母亲康复，仲躬向上天许下宏愿，母亲因此而恢复了健康。之后，为了还原，仲躬来到终南山向高僧讨取残经，在一处荒废的庭院之中潜心抄写。入夜，庭院里传来袅袅琴声，一位名为素素（林青霞饰）女鬼出现在了仲躬的面前。原来，素素死后遭到了恶鬼胁迫，被迫替恶鬼卖命，而仲躬正是她此次的“猎物”，可是仲躬生性平和善良，素素几次尝试都不忍心下手。之后，仲躬在古井之中找到一面古镜，这正是素素生前所有。素素自知自己和仲躬人鬼殊途注定无法在一起，与此同时，厉鬼亦对仲躬产生了兴趣，要将他害死。。
