故事发生在大阪的茨木市，渡边雪子（前田敦子饰）是一名单亲妈妈，和儿子彰夫（阿比留照太饰）过着相依为命的生活，虽然辛苦，但是却充满了温馨的时刻。这一天，她意外的看到了以前茨木高中的同学吉田创（白洲迅饰）的讣告。就这样，创的死让雪子、丰川大辅（高良健吾饰）等曾经的同学们再度聚集到了一起。 创曾经的梦想是成为出色的棒球投手，却因为手腕受伤，最终放弃了梦想，也远离了棒球这项热爱的运动。因为和殡仪馆的工作人员之间产生了冲突，一行人决定在学校里为创守夜，在诵经结束之后，雪子说出了一个令人震惊的秘密。。Joseph and Brenda have done what many only dream of and retired to the South of France to live out the rest of their days as if they were permanently on holiday.
